Charlotte-Douglas conducts emergency disaster exercise

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Douglas Airport held a disaster exercise at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The Federal Aviation Administration requires all Part 139 certified airports to conduct a full-scale emergency exercise that simulates an aircraft accident every three years.

Charlotte-Douglas staff, 200 emergency responders and 100 volunteers attended the event.

Staff decorated the fake volunteer victims with moulage and injuries early Sunday morning.
