CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte City Councilmember announced Thursday she is running for North Carolina State Treasurer.
Dimple Ajmera is a certified public accountant and was first elected to city council in 2017 and is currently serving her second term.

“I am running for North Carolina State Treasurer to offer the citizens of North Carolina a qualified, forward-thinking candidate who will fight for their concerns and protect taxpayers’ money,” said Ajmera.
According to her campaign website, Ajmera said she is focused on providing affordable and accessible healthcare for all North Carolina residents as well as protecting taxpayers’ money.
