As the pope gets ready for his trip to America, a Charlotte company is spearheading the social media efforts.
It has created a "Popemoji" keyboard app with dozens of images and animated GIFs that people can send to their friends.
Officials said the Catholic Church is excited about an opportunity to engage with the younger generation.

“(We're) reaching millennials where they talk, where they listen, where they enjoy each other,” said Sports Media Challenge representative Kathleen Hessert.
A team from Sports Media Challenge will travel to Philadelphia next week to open a social media headquarters.
They said some of the more popular pope emojis are one of the pope eating a Philly cheesesteak and one with him and the American flag.
