CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte community came together on Saturday for the Black History parade.
It started at 3 p.m. in west Charlotte on Catherine Simmons Avenue. The event was put on by the United Council for Change.

People could be seen lining the streets as cool cars and different organizations marched in the parade.
“It’s great to see a community come together to celebrate their heritage. You can see everybody coming together in their unique way to make a celebration. It’s much pride,” said Charlotte resident Mark Raley.
The crowd favorites were the cars and horses.
