The announcement was made at Trusit Field on Tuesday morning.
It will be the first professional outdoor hockey game in Charlotte and the first time the Checkers have played outside. The team held a practice on the field in December, as the Knights have an ice rink throughout the winter for their annual holiday festival.
“We are thrilled that this partnership with the Knights has allowed us to bring an outdoor game to Charlotte,” Checkers Chief Operating Officer Tera Black said. “Truist Field is the perfect venue for us to host this event, and our entire organization is looking forward to this historic occasion.”
Tickets will go on sale at a later date.
