CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Checkers are moving on to the second round of the Calder Cup playoffs.
The Checkers took down the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, 6-0, Friday night inside Bojangles Coliseum, winning the series 2-1. Leigh Valley won the first game, 4-3. The Checkers won Game 2 in an overtime thriller, 5-4.

The Checkers will now face the Hershey Bears in the second round. The first game is set for this Friday at 7 p.m. in the Queen City. Game two will also be inside Bojangles Coliseum. If necessary, games three and four would be at the Bears.
