CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Checkers gave fans a Monday morning treat with a rare outdoor hockey practice.
The team held practice at Truist Field, the home of the Charlotte Knights. It began at 10:15 a.m. and lasted for around 45 minutes.
The Knights have installed a regulation-sized rink for their holiday festival.

This event was open to the public and concessions were made available.
The team has recently been in talks with the Charlotte Knights on holding outdoor events.
Executives from the Charlotte Checkers and the Charlotte Knights told our partners at the Charlotte Business Journal they are open to the idea of having the hockey team play at an outdoor rink in the baseball stadium.
