FOLLY BEACH, S.C. — A bride from Charlotte was killed and her husband was seriously hurt in a crash on their wedding night in the Charleston area, WCIV reports.
The couple was leaving their wedding reception in a low-speed vehicle in Folly Beach on Friday night.
“On their beginning of the golf cart ride, she said ‘I wished this night could go on forever.’ The best night of her life,” said Lisa Miller, the bride’s mother.
That’s when a driver, who police say was under the influence, crashed into them.
Their family said four people were in the vehicle when it was hit, causing it to roll over several times, WCIV reports.

The bride, Samantha Miller Hutchinson, died at the scene. The three others on board all had critical injuries, including her husband, Aric.
Family members and friends heard sirens.
“We just went down to the scene, and we just got out of the truck, no shoes and just running,” said Mandi Jenkins, Samantha’s sister.
Police said Jamie Komoroski was driving the car that hit them. She is charged with three counts of felony DUI and one count of reckless homicide. Investigators said Komoroski was driving 65 miles per hour when she hit the motorized cart.
When officers arrived on the scene, they say that motorized the cart was on its side and had rolled several times.
“Sammie and Aric were on the back of the golf cart and so she basically just rammed my child,” Lisa Miller said.
Aric’s mother, who said she was seriously hurt in the crash, has started a GoFundMe to help with burial and medical costs, WCIV reports. The Millers also started a GoFundMe.
“That person made a careless mistake,” Jenkins said. “And it’s not a mistake. It is a life-changing event.”
An affidavit reported that Komoroski was unsteady and almost fell during a field sobriety test and needed help standing.
A low-speed vehicle (LSV) is legal to drive at night in Folly Beach, but it is illegal to drive a golf cart at night, per local ordinances.
