Charlotte breweries win medals at Great American Beer Festival

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Five Charlotte-area breweries brought home medals at this year’s Great American Beer Festival — and that’s great news for the local craft beer scene.

“It shows that our Charlotte market is maturing. People here know how to make great beer,” says Todd Ford, who along with wife Suzie, owns NoDa Brewing Co.

NoDa Brewing Co. took home a gold medal for Gordgeous in the Pumpkin/Squash beer category.

Also worth noting? Charlotte-area winners brought home accolades for a diverse selection of beers, Ford says.
