CHARLOTTE — People gathered Tuesday at First Ward Park in Uptown Charlotte as part of Charlotte Black Pride Week to rally for social justice and equal rights.

“If there is a struggle going on, it is not the responsibility of one person or one group to bear that struggle,” said Charlotte City Councilman. “Whether you know it or not, it is affecting you, your family, your well-being.”
Organizers describe the week as a cultural festival and everyone is invited.
Events will be held every day through Sunday.
