CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control is asking for neighbors’ help as the shelter deals with capacity issues and the aftermath of a Facebook account hack.
The shelter has few open kennels left for dogs, and staffers are asking for people to adopt. The shelter says adoption prices are normally $113 for an adult male dog and $118 for an adult female dog.
The shelter says GoodPup is helping by offering 350 gift cards to Rover worth $50; the next 350 people who adopt dogs will get a free week of training from GoodPup plus one of those gift cards.
But even if you can’t donate to the shelter or adopt, Animal Care & Control says you can help support them by following their new Facebook page.
According to AC&C, their original Facebook page with over 30,000 followers was hacked in October. The organization tried working with Facebook to regain access, but Facebook denied “numerous appeals.”
Instead, a new page was started in January. You can find that page and follow them at this link.
