CHARLOTTE — Charlotte’s usual hot spots for new food and drink offerings remained in demand this year.
In uptown, for instance, several new establishments made their debut onto Charlotte’s restaurant scene in 2024. That includes Dos Caminos, a Mexican restaurant rooted in New York City. It opened at Ally Charlotte Center in March, serving upscale Mexican fare and award-winning margaritas.
A pair of concepts operated by local restaurateurs Joe and Katy Kindred — all-day café milkbread and fine-dining spot Albertine — also opened this fall at Duke Energy Plaza. And several new establishments opened in the remade The Alley at Latta Arcade as well as new food hall Monarch Market.
Meanwhile, South End added authentic Spanish tapas restaurant Catalú, Mexican food-inspired The Matador and gourmet toast and juice bar Toastique. Swanky cocktail lounges that opened in the neighborhood include Folia and Blue Door.
