Channel 9 was awarded the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award.
The board honored Channel 9 for our investigation into fraud in North Carolina's 9th Congressional district
Our team accepted the award Tuesday night.
The duPont board called our work “dogged shoe-leather reporting that sparked widespread national attention.”

The investigation also led to the only time in documented history a federal election was overturned for a fraud investigation.
I don’t do this job for awards, fame or to get my face on TV. I go to bed and wake up thinking about Charlotte because I am passionate about using my platform to make the city better. Thank you Columbia University for the recognition. It is an honor to work at @wsoctv #duPont2020 pic.twitter.com/lsYNd2r9Sw
