CFD rescues worker stuck in tree in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — Temperatures in the Queen City have gotten so high, that MEDIC was called to rescue a worker from a tree in south Charlotte because of the heat.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Berea Court off Camel Road, crews were called to help a tree trimmer having a heat emergency.

Pictures of the rescue were sent to Channel 9, showing the large group effort it took to help him-both MEDIC and the Charlotte Fire Department were on the scene. Officials say the worker is expected to be okay.

Judy Pickering lives in the neighborhood and watched part of the rescue unfold. She spent some of the day working in her yard and told Channel 9 she understands how quickly the heat can get to you.

“So it does creep up on you, you don’t feel it until it’s almost too late,” Pickering said.
