S.C./N.C. LINE — Investigators said they have not been able to find the cause of the fire that spread to several cars in the Carowinds’ parking lot Friday.
Fire officials in York County told Channel 9 Monday, they determined the fire started on the passenger-side of a 2003 Ford Taurus and quickly spread to the other vehicles. A recall related to that model did not cause the fire, officials said.

They said the damage to the interior of the car has made it difficult in determining a cause.
Fire officials responded to the fire in the south parking lot of the park Friday afternoon. Investigators said 11 cars were damaged and most of them were likely totaled.
