CHARLOTTE — The Catholic Diocese of Charlotte and Woodfield Investment have finalized the sale of 71 acres in Ballantyne, bringing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools one step closer to breaking ground on two projects.

The property at 7000 Endhaven Lane was purchased by Woodfield from the Diocese for $36 million. Bill Ziegler, owner and president of Ziegler and Co., said the sale closed March 15.

In late February, Charlotte City Council approved the rezoning petitions for the property and a 36-acre site on Ardrey Kell Road where a new elementary school and 349 multifamily units will be built.
