Catawba Two Kings Casino looks to hire 200 ahead of ‘pre-launch’ facility opening

SHELBY, N.C. — The Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort will hosted a job fair Wednesday in order to fill hundreds of positions at their “pre-launch” temporary facility.

The temporary gaming facility will be opening this summer in Kings Mountain and will have 500 slot machines. Officials said it will provide an initial opportunity for guests to game with limited food and drink options as well as other amenities.

Makayla Arnold is a pharmacist and wants to be a dealer at Two Kings, because she’s excited about the growth the area.

“I know it’s something big, and I know there’s a lot of opportunities inside the casino, so I’m just hoping to get in,” Arnold said.

The resort said they are looking to fill around 200 positions. There are a variety of positions available such opportunities in finance, marketing, slot techs, security, bartending, guest services as well as supervisory positions.

Christy Hughes is hoping for an accounting job.

“It means a lot,” Hughes said. “It’s gonna open up a lot of opportunities for everyone surrounding it.”

Full-time positions include health, dental and vision medical plans, life insurance coverage, paid vacation and a 401K retirement savings plan.

“This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career and be part of an exciting gaming and hospitality operation,” Chuck Kilroy, who is leading the efforts of Delaware North, the Catawba Nation’s consultant on the project, said. “We encourage local residents to come and apply for these positions in this growing business.”

The job fair was held at the Cleveland Community College Event center in Shelby and another one will be on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The casino resort said applicants must be at least 21 years old and have two valid forms of identification. Applications are encouraged to bring a resume and they should be prepared to fill out an application and be interviewed at the job fair.
