HARRISBURG, N.C. — Firefighters made an unusual rescue Wednesday morning in Harrisburg.

They rescued a cat who became stuck near the bottom of a chimney in a home on River Falls Drive.
Animal control officers from the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to help with the rescue.
Firefighters said they managed to get the cat out of the chimney by cutting through the wall. The cat is OK.
