CHARLOTTE — Carvana’s Charlotte location is off probation, Channel 9 has learned.
As Action 9′s Jason Stoogenke reported in June, the Carvana location on South Boulevard was put on probation because of paperwork issues.
The company was allowed to sell cars in the meantime, but North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein told Stoogenke that he and the DMV were keeping a close eye on the dealer.
Stein told Stoogenke that had he received more than 60 complaints about Carvana that involved all sorts of issues, but mainly, “it has to do with paperwork. They’re failing to give DMV the title paperwork.”
“They’re failing to give inspection reports and the proper paperwork to the buyer and to the lenders who need it in order to do the financing,” he added.
Two years later, Stein said the business is doing better.
Carvana has deafened its practices in the past.
“Our focus has always been and remains squarely on our customers and the meaningful value we provide them,” Carvana told Action 9.
