Carolinas rank as some of the worst states to have a baby

WalletHub ranked North Carolina at 42 and South Carolina at  41, making the states some of the worst places to have a baby in the nation.

Analysts based the findings on delivery costs, yearly infant-care costs, the infant mortality rate and 14 other criteria.

Americans already pay some of the highest delivery costs in the world, with an average cost of $10,002 and another $5,238 tacked on for a C-section.
