Carolina Panthers report to training camp at new practice facility

CHARLOTTE — The Carolina Panthers start training camp on Wednesday. It’s the first time in 30 years they’ll be in Charlotte.

Rookies arrived last Friday and veterans joined them on Tuesday.

“I never went anywhere and just lost, and I don’t plan on coming here and just losing,” outside linebacker Jadaveon Clowney said. “I told guys this is my sixth team. I know what it looks like and what it takes to win.”

“This is a big time to make sure we have tangible goals, that we create our identity,” said quarterback Bryce Young. “That’s what training camp is about.”

The team spent months renovating its practice facilities, just a short walk from Bank of America Stadium. For the first time, we’re getting at a detailed look at the new practice fields before training camp kicks off.

Among the new features, the team invested more than $200,000 in a new cooling trailer. It’s one way for players to cool down during and after practice.

Fans will also notice new bleacher-style seating.

The first practice is at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Gates open to fans at 8:30 a.m.
