CHARLOTTE — The inside Bank of America Stadium was turned into a Christmas wonderland Tuesday evening.
High-profile Carolina Panther players hosted its sixth annual Joy for the Carolina Event and handed out sacks of toys to kids from Western North Carolina.
“Anything we can do to give back, we’re all glad to be a part of,” said Panthers quarterback Bryce Young. “We want to do everything we can just to spread joy.”
Other notable players, as well as David and Nicole Tepper, joined Young.
“We did a pivot, the goal was to support Charlotte and western North Carolina this year,” said Nicole.
More than 700 kids from the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club received toys, coats, shoes, and a meal.
Nicole said this is the sixth year they have hosted the event and in that time they have helped more than 10,000 kids.
“It takes 200 volunteers. They kinda look at me like, ‘Uh oh, her wheels are turning again,’” Nicole said.
