CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation said the westbound lane on U.S. 74 has reopened in Cleveland County after pig parts spilled across the road Monday.
A tractor-trailer spilled its load near Long Branch Road around 11:30 a.m.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene and saw traffic backed up because of the lane closure.
Troopers said a vehicle stopped at the traffic light and the tractor-trailer spilled its load when it tried to stop as well.
Troopers said the driver in the other vehicle was hit by some of the contents from the truck but was not seriously hurt.
The driver of the truck was not hurt. He was charged with failure to reduce speed.
