ROCK HILL, S.C. — An arrest has been made a day after a 55-year-old woman riding a scooter was hit and killed in Rock Hill, officials said.
Betty Jean Johnson’s scooter was hit from behind on Highway 324 near Holland Road by a driver of a car who left the scene.

The suspected vehicle was described as a 2009 to 2019 blue, four-door Dodge Journey SUV which should have damage to the right front bumper and grill. There could be more damage to a headlight, windshield and right, front fender.
On Tuesday morning, police said 43-year-old Stanley Dale Hancock was arrested and charged with Johnson's death.
