CORNELIUS, N.C. — Channel 9 received new video of the fiery crash that unfolded moments after a police chase ended in Cornelius this weekend.
Both men in the car died at the crash site.
The driver had failed to stop for police who said the car was speeding at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Jetton Road.

That was when they fled and crashed about 1.5 miles away.
Dan McGovern got out of bed when he heard loud noises about a block away from his home at Jetton and Meta roads.
“I heard the sickening sound of long screeches of tires followed by a large boom,” McGovern said.
He knew it was going to be bad.
“I grabbed my cellphone, threw on some shorts and sprinted outside thinking I was going to call 911 for an ambulance,” he said.
But it was already too late as flames from the car shot up to the sky.
"As I got there, there was a police officer standing there looking and to the left was this sedan that was quickly becoming engulfed in flames,” McGovern said.
Andrew Krolikowski and Jason Monroe were killed in the crash.
Officers said they had attempted to stop the men's car twice but they just kept on going.
Officers said they chased the car, lost sight of it and then came upon it on fire after it had crashed into a tree along Jetton Road.
Cornelius police said they won't know how fast Krolikowski was driving during the chase until a reconstruction of the accident is complete.
Several residents complained about drivers going over the 45-mph speed limit but police told Channel 9 this incident had nothing to do with speed zones because the driver tried to elude police.
