CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a chase ended in a crash overnight in north Charlotte.
Detectives told Channel 9 the pursuit started when officers noticed someone breaking into a car on Ikea Boulevard in University City around midnight.
The suspect jumped into a waiting vehicle and sped off, but the car wrecked on Nevin Road. Channel 9 crews on scene could see the rear tire of the suspect’s car was damaged.
Two suspects ran from the crash scene, but police were able to take one man into custody.
No names or charges have been released.
