CONCORD, N.C. — Nearly a month after police say he escaped law enforcement during an attempted traffic stop, a Concord man was captured Saturday and may face charges from cities all across the region, authorities say.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office captured Lonnie Lemons on Saturday following a car chase that started on Bruton Smith Boulevard, and ended when authorities say he left the car and ran along Interstate 85.
Lemons initially gave police the name William Nolan. Following an interview with Concord Police Department detectives, Concord police say Lemons confessed to his real name and was charged with crimes across multiple cities.
In addition to felony larceny and several other charges in Concord, CPD says Lemons is facing six charges from four different counties in the Raleigh area. The department expects further charges against Lemons to be filed by other agencies in North Carolina.
He is being held at the Cabarrus County Jail without bond due to a parole violation from Tennessee on an LSD manufacturing conviction.
