KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A Kannapolis man has beat the odds twice in the North Carolina Education Lottery.

Cedric Bass won a $1 million scratch-off prize on Thursday just months after he won thousands in the lottery.

Bass purchased the winning ticket from Willow Oaks BP on George W. Liles Parkway in Concord.

He chose to take the lump-sum amount of $600,000 and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $427,503.

In January, Bass won $182,073 after splitting a Cash 5 jackpot with another winner.
