CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Cabarrus County leaders will hear final recommendations Monday night for its controversial redistricting plan.
A consulting firm is expected to lay out its realignment plan for the district, including plans to send students to the new West Cabarrus High School next fall.

The meeting is open to the public, but county leaders will not be taking feedback and a vote will not be held Monday.
Before the presentation, board members will also get an update on the evaluation into Beverly Hills Elementary School.
Last year, the board voted to close the school as part of the redistricting plan.

But, after outrage from parents, they chose to look at renovating the school.
Additionally, the school day will be a little longer for Cabarrus County High School students.
The district is adding three minutes to the end of each day, for the rest of the year. The change is so students will not have to make up possible snow days during Spring Break.
Elementary and middle school schedules will stay the same.
