LONG VIEW, N.C. — A Catawba County family is devastated after a fire destroyed their home days before Christmas.
Four different fire departments responded to the fire around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday along 23rd Street Northwest in Long View.
When firefighters got to the mobile home, much of it was engulfed in flames. Firefighters said a mother and her adult son were home when the fire started, but they were able to escape safely.
