BOONE. N.C. — A boil water advisory has been issued in Boone after a water main break Sunday morning.
Meadowview Drive was reopened around 4:30 p.m. and the water main break was repaired, but the boil advisory remains in effect.
Nearby residents and businesses have been without water since 7:15 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The Division of Water Resources said consumers are to boil water used for human consumption for one minute or use bottled water until at least noon Monday. "Consumption" includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.
