CHARLOTTE, N.C. — People in charge of the bike rental program in and around uptown Charlotte said they're getting more business than they expected.
The B-Cycle program started almost six months ago and has 200 bikes available to rent at 20 stations.
The executive director said the program is getting between 700 and 800 rentals during some weeks.
“We have a lot of commuters picking up the bikes in South End and bringing them, parking them at a dock and not having to worry about the security of their bike,” said Dianna Ward.
The program could expand at some popular stations, and add more stations.
