Big changes in store for longtime Dilworth restaurant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A major overhaul is in store for Fran’s Filling Station.

The idea of rebranding the long-standing restaurant in Dilworth has been in the works for a couple of years, owner Fran Scibelli said. But she actively started working on the changes about six months ago — right before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.

Scibelli is moving forward with those plans despite the pandemic throwing her a curveball.

“We’re going to shake it up quite a bit ... It’s not going to be a little remodel. It’s going to be a completely different look, feel. Just a new project for me,” she said.

Fran’s Filling Station has been located in Park Square Shopping Center at 2410 Park Road since 2009.
