The church’s head pastor and his congregation celebrated the achievements of all 21 graduates. Six of the graduates earned different college degrees; the other 15 graduates were from local high schools.
“We are honoring those who have committed themselves to fulfill a promise to themselves of a better future,” Rockwell AME Zion Church’s Pastor Jordan B. Boyd told Channel 9.
Pastor Boyd also told Channel 9 he credits education as the key to moving forward, not only in your personal life but in helping communities move forward as well.
