CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-based Belk Inc. has furloughed employees at its corporate headquarters.
‘Difficult, but are neccesary’: Belk restructuring leads to dozens of layoffs
CEO Lisa Harper confirmed the temporary furloughs to the Charlotte Business Journal on Friday. She did not release how many employees were impacted.
“As Belk stores remain closed to customers in order to protect the health and safety of both customers and our associates, we’ve recently made the toughest decision to date — to temporarily place certain store and home office associates on furlough,” spokeswoman Jennifer Anderson said in a statement Friday.
