CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is searching for a suspect who broke into a beauty store in southwest Charlotte.
Surveillance video captured a person smashing windows and stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from EC Beauty Supply around 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
Channel 9′s Glenn Counts spoke with the owner, 34-year-old Brittany Hall, about what this loss will mean for her business.
Hall, 34, told Channel 9 that she owned EC Beauty Supply for a year and a half before it was burglarized.
“I lost it because it’s something that I worked too hard for and I spent my last to get it,” Hall said.

Hall is one of a growing number of business owners who have been their property burglarized.
According to CMPD, there have been 514 commercial break-ins so far in 2023. This is in comparison to the 480 that occurred this time last year.
“I felt violated you know. For him to rob me, rob me of everything I worked so hard for. It was something to see,” Hall explained.
Hall said she is hoping someone will recognize the suspect and call the police. She said may not get all of her product back but every little bit will help.
