CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Better Business Bureau unveiled its new Dirty Half Dozen list ranking the top companies with the most unanswered complaints.
The six companies are based in Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus, Iredell and Catawba counties.
At the top of the list is Randy Briel, who has a business in Waxhaw called The Pro Group.
The BBB said he does home improvement projects and this year faced six complaints of accepting payments without doing the work.
Briel has been on Channel 9's radar since 2011, after changing his business name 16 times over six years.
This month he was charged in Waxhaw with cashing a bad check for more than $2,000.
Around the same time, a homeowner contacted Action 9 saying she hired Briel to build a patio and a fence, but he only did part of the job.
After Action 9 got involved, Briel gave her money back.
