LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Bank of America Corp. is expanding its presence in the Charlotte region with its first brick-and-mortar location in Lancaster County.
The new branch — in the Carolina Lakes area off U.S. Highway 521 in Indian Land — had a soft opening on Aug. 19. Bank officials and employees attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site on Wednesday morning.
The 3,800-square-foot space features BofA’s modern design with clean lines and ample natural light. Glassed-in offices line the sides of the branch, and a community sitting area is up front. The teller line, formerly a more pronounced feature, is tucked away in the back of the room.
Stephen Collie, BofA’s region executive in consumer banking and Merrill Edge, noted the importance of having a physical location in Lancaster County.
“It allowed us to serve a clientele that we were missing out on before,” Collie said. “We still have an investment, and this is proof, in our financial centers and our people that we need physical locations to deal with clients in public and to be present. It’s a great location on the street to be able to have our brand out in the community as well.”
