Bank of America, Wells Fargo back new Goodwill program for banking careers

CHARLOTTE — Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is rolling out a new training program to give people in the Charlotte region equal access to careers in the banking industry.

Goodwill collaborated with nonprofits CareerWork$ and Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) to provide the coaching and resources needed for the BankWork$ program.

“We recognize that skilled training is an essential part of helping to build our growing city, and having these skills can lead to in-demand high potential careers,” said Chris Jackson, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, in a statement. “We’ve come together with CAEL and CareerWork$ to make the path to these careers possible in one of our community’s top industries.”

The program’s funding partners include CareerWork$, Bank of America Corp., Wells Fargo & Co. and global professional services company Accenture. Goodwill said it hopes to welcome other financial partners for the program’s future cohorts.
