HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — Three times, a man wearing a wig robbed banks in the Charlotte area – and authorities confirmed Friday afternoon that he struck again.
Police said the “Bad Wig Bandit” is responsible for the latest bank robbery, which happened Thursday in Hendersonville.
Investigators said the robber wore a black wig and demanded money from the teller before he walked out with the cash from a BB&T branch.
That M.O. is very similar to past bank robberies in the Charlotte area.

The “Bad Wig Bandit” first hit the BB&T on Northcross Drive in Huntersville on Dec. 13 wearing a blonde wig and high heels.
The FBI said he robbed the New Horizon bank on Wilkinson Boulevard in Belmont about a month later, wearing a red wig.
He then robbed the Wells Fargo on Cox Road in Gastonia, this time wearing a curlier style wig.
In all three instances, the robber slipped a teller a note demanding money, at times threatening a weapon.
The FBI is asking for help identifying the man.
