Man arrested after triple shooting at Salisbury restaurant, police say

SALISBURY, N.C. — A man has been arrested after a triple shooting Friday night at a Mexican restaurant in Salisbury, police said.

Police were called to the shooting scene around 10:15 p.m. and found three people who had been shot.

According to police, two of the people were taken to to the hospital and are in critical condition. The third person was treated at the scene and released by EMS.

One of the victims was shot in the head, a source told Channel 9.

The identities of the shooting victims have not been released, but according to a source, one of the victims is a minor.

Channel 9 was at the scene of Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant located on Klumac Road, where there were several police cruisers in the parking lot of the shopping center.

According to police, officers on scene were able to find the suspect’s car shortly afterward at Highway 601 and East Ridge Road. The driver, 20-year-old Hugo Riquelme Alonso, was taken into custody.

Alonso was charged with attempted second-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill. He is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.
