There was a large police presence at the motel at Lakemont and Carowinds boulevards in York County.

One man was killed, the sheriff’s office confirmed. The coroner’s office identified him as 18-year-old Joshua Richardson-Ross, of Charlotte.

Deputies said Isaiah Jones walked into the lobby, shot Richardson-Ross, and then left. He was spotted a short time later walking toward a nearby QT.

Authorities were able to arrest him Wednesday night in Iredell County but no other information has been released.
