Authorities investigating deadly fire that engulfed Chester County home

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Several agencies are investigating a deadly house fire in Chester County Saturday night.

According to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office, the Richburg Fire Department were called to a home that was fully engulfed by flames at around 10:10 p.m. The home was on Greene Drive in the Richburg area of Chester County.

Firefighters found a person dead inside the home, deputies said.

The fire was extinguished by Sunday morning.

Deputies said they are investigating what led to the fire. They said the Chester County Coroner and arson agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are helping with the investigation.
