CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department conducted a death investigation Tuesday night after a man was found dead in an apartment at 8914 East W.T. Harris Blvd. near Albemarle Road in east Charlotte.
The call for service was just after 2 p.m. Tuesday for a welfare check, according to a CMPD officer.
Channel 9 obtained the police report for the incident. It indicated there was a second unidentified 38-year-old black male victim in the vicinity.
The report said this victim was suffering major injuries when authorities arrived on scene.
The scene has been considered an active crime scene for more than 15 hours, beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday and into early Wednesday morning.
Reporter Gina Esposito spoke with a CMPD officer on the scene. He said there will be another round of investigators arriving later Wednesday morning to continue to collect evidence.
No further information has been released.
