Charlotte attorney files discrimination complaint against law firm

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A local attorney has filed a federal complaint against her employer, law firm Robinson Bradshaw.

As an associate, Sharika Robinson alleges that while working at the firm's Charlotte offices, she has endured racial and gender-based discrimination.

She also claims the firm has committed fraud by promoting that it maintains a diverse working environment when it does not.

A New Mexico foster parent won't serve any more time in prison after being convicted of six counts of rape.

“It is a very difficult thing to be exposed to constant discrimination and abuse,” Sharika Robinson said. “The incidents were pervasive and continuous -- very, very damaging and hurtful."

In a written statement, Robinson Bradshaw said: “Sharika Robinson’s allegations are false. The firm did not discriminate against her in any way. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, as evidenced by our attorneys’ contributions to the firm, profession and community as a whole.”
