CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Our local malls are about to reopen after sitting empty for weeks due to the pandemic.
Simon owns several malls in the Charlotte area and announced that it would be reopening Concord Mills, SouthPark and Charlotte Premium Outlets on May 9.

Channel 9 reached out to some of the larger tenants at SouthPark Mall. Macy’s said their Charlotte stores could be open in the next six weeks despite opening two stores in South Carolina on Monday.
If what we’ve seen in South Carolina is any indication, some stores inside the malls will choose not to open.
