CHARLOTTE — Atrium Health has announced that it will be providing free sports physicals at Bank of America Stadium during Our Heart of a Champion Day.
The hospital said the event is driven by recent student-athletes who have needed on-the-court or field help due to sports-related cardiac events or injuries. The physicals will be offered to students at partnering schools.

Our Heart of a Champion Day will go beyond just a routine physical. Unlike typical athletic screenings, it will include EKGs to detect heart abnormalities that could lead to sudden cardiac arrest, according to Atrium Health.
The screenings will also include a review of the athlete’s medical history, a sports-specific medical and musculoskeletal exam, a heart exam and a vision test.
Our Heart of a Champion Day begins in June and the last day to register is May 21.
