CHARLOTTE — Queen City residents laced up their running shoes for the 13th Atrium Health Keep Pounding 5K on Saturday morning.
The annual event raises funds for cancer research at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospitals.
Rodgers Builders and JELD-WEN co-sponsored the race.

Participants checked in just before 7 a.m. outside the Levine Cancer Institute. A pep rally with special guests from the Carolina Panthers followed before the race began at 8 a.m.
An award ceremony was held outside of Bank of America Stadium after the race ended.
