Asheville brewery nears opening of South End taproom

CHARLOTTE — Hi-Wire Brewing is wrapping up construction on its South End taproom.

Concrete floors are set to be finished this week, with furniture to be loaded in soon after. The Asheville-based brewery is targeting a July 15 opening at 330 W. Tremont Ave.

It will be neighbors with Benny Ferrovia’s as well as Pins Mechanical and Sycamore Brewing.

“Charlotte has become a huge craft-brewing community. I think it’s only natural Hi-Wire is expanding here,” says Matt Houston, assistant manager.

Charlotte marks the eighth location for Hi-Wire. The brewery has been selling its beer in the Queen City since it first opened in Asheville in 2013.
