BOONE, N.C. — Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, Appalachian State University is moving classes online for the time being.
That means students will not move into their dorms just yet.

The university said they made the decision after careful review of the current data and positive case trends locally and statewide. Classes will begin Jan. 19, as scheduled, but students will meet online until Feb. 1.
